The owners of this beautiful waterside site, on the banks of the Helford River near Port Navas, wanted 3HW to design a new, low profile, family home to replace the existing inefficient dormer bungalow. Part of the brief was to landscape and detail the site, with the aim for it to complement the house next door (also designed by 3HW).

This house, designed to be as environmentally friendly as possible, will provide family accommodation. It will include a home office and gym, all with heating and hot water generated by ground source heat pumps, reducing the carbon footprint of the building.

As another part of this brief, 3HW have designed a new River Room and Boat Store to sit near the water’s edge, within the shade of an oak tree. This will be a tranquil space, providing views along the creek.

Work on site has begun for both structures, and 3HW are working alongside the contractors to ensure the best results possible.

Planning approval was granted for this project in October 2019. Construciton on site was completed in March 2024.
